Tip 11: Windows and locks
Having a window near the deadbolt lock in your home is always a risk, because a robber could quite easily break the window and then unlock the deadlock. It seems like a silly mistake and one that can be easily avoided by using a double cylinder lock – one that necessitates a key. And, of course, you shouldn’t leave the key sitting in the lock! This is one way to make it easier for a criminal to get into your home. Finally, close your windows at night and invest in an air conditioner for cooling your home; it might be a bit more expensive, but it is also a lot safer.
